Wedding pictures

Well, two posts in one day! Now that's great news for some of you who have gotten on to me for getting behind. Thanks though for understanding that life just hasn't slowed down in the last couple of weeks for me to even remember that I haave a blog!

Bekah & Joey were married August 24th at a beautiful outside wedding. Danny was the "preacher-dude" (as one kid said that saw him in Walmart after the wedding), I was a bridesmaid and Nathan was a Bible bearer. Micah was a perfect little member of the audience. Bekah is Danny's sister and we had a great time getting to know Joey thru the pre-marital counseling we had with them the week of the wedding. They're now in Florida starting their new life. Bekah is in Grad school for Physical Therapy and Joey is a fireman in training. Pray for them as they begin their life together.

How we're doing...

We've been in Texas for 2 weeks now and have been enjoying our, albeit very busy time, with friends and family. Here are a few pictures. Nathan said, "I'm Dad" after trying on his suit. He's so much fun. The 2nd picture tells you how we all felt the first few days back. Nathan had asked for lunch and Danny was in the kitchen making it when he came back to the living room....he found Nate out for the rest of the afternoon! Both of the boys have done well, considering what we've put them thru since arriving. We've seen our home church and put the boys in the nurseries/Sunday school, had family love on them, help plan a wedding for Danny's sister, be IN the wedding and the next day we drove to Austin, Texas, to report to another church--which meant another Sunday school class/nursery. But Nathan & Micah are troopers. They give us so much joy too! Just last night we were out to a late supper with Papa and Grama (or GG as Nathan calls her --GreatGrandma=GG) and the adults ordered Chocolate shakes and Nathan stood in his chair leaned over the table and whispered to the waitress, "I want one too". It was soooooo funny & adorable.

Jet lag

Well, it's been almost 3 full days since we arrived and we're slowly getting to 'normal'...whatever that may be. The boys have done ok. Last night everyone slept thru the whole night. Danny & I went to bed almost immediately after the boys. It was really too early for us normally, but we weren't sure when the boys would get up. We ended up waking before them! Oh well.

Tonight I'm going to my sis-in-laws bridal shower and Danny will go spend some guy time with his Dad and our boys. Tomorrow I'm helping host a baby shower for one of my best friends who is on the verge of popping a baby girl out ;) At this point we've all been praying that she comes soon, but not till after the shower. haha!

Sunday will be a great day seeing our home church family. In the evening service Danny will preach. I'm excited about sitting in church without having to hold on to the boys. Let's just hope that Micah likes the nursery!

Hope you're having a great week. We are really enjoying showing off our boys!

Made it!

We arrived safely at DFW yesterday (August 14th). It was a loooong flight. Nathan did great even with a couple of typical 3 yr. old moments, but he's always been such a good traveler. Micah on the other hand was quite the challenge. This was his first trip. Since he's been born 10 months ago, the farthest he's traveled is Vienna when we went to the Consulate to register him and get his passport and that was just a 2 hr. car drive. He was sooo very tired and just couldn't get comfortable. When he gets fussy at home I just go put him in his crib and shut the door (sometimes he cries sometimes he doesn't) and he falls asleep. He's not a cuddly, hold me baby. So on the plane when he was giving all the signals of "I'm tired put me to bed" I had to say "You're in your bed... my arms!"

So we don't have internet at the apartment, but Danny is going to look into it and see how much it would cost for a few months. Otherwise, we'll come over to my parents house (all of a 3 minute drive). Thanks for praying for us and we miss you (if you're in Austria) and looking forward to seeing so many of you on this side of the ocean.

Oh--Nathan told us last night and a couple of times this morning that he didn't like our "new house" (apartment) and that he wanted to go home. But he got over it when Danny took him to the apartment complex pool this morning and now we're at Grampa and Grammy's house for lunch and their pantry is stocked. There won't be any spoiling here I think--LOL!

August 6th

Happy Anniversary to Us! On August 6, 1999, Danny & I were married at my home church, Hallmark Baptist in Texas. We were still in college, Danny was entering his 4th year and I my 3rd. We both worked full time and loved our little apartment. We had good friends and lots of fun! The Lord has taken us thru valleys and mountain tops. No matter which one, He has been with us thru it all.

In the last 8 years we've seen God thru: graduations, bill paying (when we just didn't know where it was going to come from and suddenly a card would arrive in the mail), moving to Texas and Austria, loosing a baby, deputation, long roads, family get-togethers, our Nathan and at 9 weeks old the good bye's, moving our family to Austria, language, culture, family weddings, making new friends here that we can't imagine ever not knowing, our Micah- born in Austria, loss of grandparents, moving on of old friends and some new friends too (but thank the Lord for technology!), supporting, faithful churches, prayer warriors, those phone calls out of the blue to see how we are, and the churches who remember our entire family's birthdays or our anniverysary. We are thankful for how God sees fit to provide for us and bless us more than we deserve.

Today we are going to finally have a night out alone! I was trying to think of the last time Danny & I enjoyed being out without the kids and I believe it was for my birthday last December or maybe Danny's in February. Either way, it's long overdue! I get excited about dressing up a bit and having dinner out that will not include cutting up Nate's food or having a diaper bag with jar food and a bottle. But.... I'll also miss them very much! Even though I need 'me' time, when I hear Nathan say, "You're back!" and come running to me with open arms---ahhhh, I love being a mommy!

Danny, I love you!

ps- here's the only pic I have scanned on our computer from our wedding and then I guess Danny & I don't have a lot of pics of just us, so I'll have to take some tonight.
