Update for the week

David & Britney arrived safely on Thursday morning and besides David's suitcase not arriving till today (Saturday) they are doing great. Jet lag hasn't been that bad either. Yesterday we just lounged around and let them actually feel like they were on vacation. The boys are enjoying them and lots of wrestling and pillow fights have already taken place.

Tonight we took them to downtown Graz (old part of town) and walked around the Christmas market and to see the lights all ready for the Christmas holidays. We also met up with some of our good friends. It was COLD though.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tomorrow, the 23rd, is our 2nd service. Keep us in prayer as we prepare and for those we have invited. It's an exciting time as we are in the growing stage of a new ministry.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

My Grandma's funeral will be on Monday. Pray for my mom and her siblings as they are making the necessary arrangements and dealing with the loss of their last parent. My brothers and their families are driving to Indiana today.

I hurt for them and also that I can't be there with them. But God is faithful and He'll see us all thru this.

Prayer

My Grandma (Mom's mom) is not doing well.

This is what I've been told and hopefully it's all correct as there were a lot of things to take in. Last week she was taken to the hospital with pneumonia and trouble breathing. They discovered she has an enlarged heart, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, an infection, and then after some complaints of chest pains (higher up than normal) they found she has a VERY bad gall bladder problem. She was not a candidate for surgery because of all the sudden health problems, but they said if she did not have this surgery she wouldn't last long. So we prayed the surgery (happened on Sunday) would be successful and it was --of sorts. They discovered her immune system was no longer existent and that is why her body didn't give hardly any signs like fever, etc. Long story short, they removed the gall bladder that had been "dead" for sometime and noticed it has infected much of her body. The Dr. said the next 48 hrs. were critical (that ends today). She has been on all sorts of meds and a machine so her body wouldn't have to over work for basic stuff.

Just a couple of hours ago my Dad called and said that my Aunt had called and the Dr. has said to call the family (to Indiana). Now her kidneys are failing. My Dad, Mom, and Uncle Dan (he just moved to Texas on Sunday for a job) will be driving today. Please pray for us. If you've been reading this blog long you may remember my Grandpa (Mom's dad) passed away in February 2007. Pray for my Mom, my Aunts-Robin & Cindy, and Uncle Dan.

Little Update

Isn't Anna just a cutie-pie?!?

Sorry that posting has been real 'hit and miss'. This pregnancy has taken a toll on me on top of having the 2 boys! Danny has been fantastic on doing stuff around the house. I can't hardly go in the kitchen without gagging, so he's doing all the cooking. We usually split that chore anyway since we both can cook, but I just haven't been able to for the last 2 weeks.

We're also gearing up for a visit from Danny's brother, David and his wife, Britney. We're so very excited to see them! Nathan is aware of their visit and is starting to count down the days. Micah, well, he knows something is going to happen but he was just a year old when we left last Fall and doesn't remember a lot.

Pray for them as they travel. International travel can be so exciting and stressful at the same time.

First Services

On November 9th, we had our first official service of our new ministry (up to this point we have been doing home Bible studies). It all came about when one of my friends with whom I've been having regular Bible studies asked if we could have Sunday services. We took this as a sign that our ministry was ready to take the next step and have decided to begin holding bi-weekly worship services. We are excited about my friend's enthusiasm in seeing this goal slowly become a reality. She took it upon herself to find a meeting place, which is right in her community since she has the connections there. It's north of Graz, outside of the city, which is a bit of a drive for us, but just about all of our other contacts live in that region so it's very convenient for them. We are meeting in a brand new chapel that was only built a month or two ago and has never been used. (Side note -- our goal is to eventually start holding a service in our community (south of Graz) on the off Sundays of our current service).

Since we moved to Austria we've been involved in team ministry, helping start another work as well as assisting an already established ministry. It has been exciting to finally be able to work on a project that has been based solely upon the people we've met and relationships that we have developed within the last 4 years. We implemented a strategy shortly after arriving and getting settled in here and are excited to see it working. Though it's been slow and tough at times, it is coming together and God is blessing!

Including our family we had 16 people there. After the service we met for brunch at a cafe across from the chapel. I just took a few pics because I didn't want people to feel like they were 'on display.' There were quite a few that didn't make it, who we are praying will be able to come and be a part of future meetings. Some of them have never attended any church, a few are Believers who are not currently part of a church but want to be, and some are just searching... for something... anything. Danny and I pray that whatever we do it's glorifying to God. We don't have all the answers, but we know WHO does.

Our next service is the on 23rd of November and we're excited to say we'll have international guests! Danny's brother, David and his wife, Britney, will be here visiting us for Thanksgiving! Please be praying for us as we get ready for the 23rd and for our family as they are traveling next week.

'Clean Food'

Our boys have always been good eaters and will eat pretty much anything you put in front of them. The boys like my Filipino foods-pancit, adobo, meat on a stick, stirfry's, and also what we call 'basics' (burgers, pancakes, hotdogs, fried chicken, casseroles, pastas etc) They also eat their veggies really good. Now with that little bit of explanation it's interesting how dinner went.

Danny made Chinese Cashew Chicken w/ Rice tonight. Micah immediately digs in and asks for seconds before Nate has really had a chance to get 2 bites in... so we get on to him for not eating. He drinks all his juice... wants more... asks for cahews with no sauce on them... so we oblige. Now I'm finished eating, Micah's asking for more, Danny's still eating, but Nate hasn't hardly eaten anything. So we ask "what's the matter?" He says politely. "May I have some clean food?" We're confused. "Clean food? What's wrong with your food?" So he explains to us that he wants chicken on "this part" of his plate and the rice, etc. He didn't want anything touching or the sauce on the rice, etc.

So that is the definition of "Clean Food".

Disappointed

Well, America has dug herself a really big hole this time. I know God is in control and is not surprised by the outcome of this election, but I have such a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach (and no, it's not the pregnancy). Let's keep our country continually in prayer... she's going to need it.

The News Is Out!

Many of you have probably heard...

Baby Caldwell is on his/her way! My approximate due date is June 28th. Nathan is excited and actually knows what it means this time. When we were expecting Micah he had no clue... so this time, Micah has no clue. I am feeling sick as usual. The nauseous-ness is bad and this time a new symptom-- migraines! This is the part I dread, but know it'll be worth it. Pray for us as we transition thru this. Danny is being such a great helper!

Also, we heard that Danny's sister, Zandra will be having Baby #2 about the same time our Baby is due! That'll be nice to have cousins close in age.

We're preparing for David & Britney's visit. They leave 2 weeks from tomorrow! Pray for their safety in travel and to stay healthy as the trip approaches.
