The Goose-Bump/It's a Small World Moment

If the title makes no sense to you, please read Krista's post from the 25th of April. As Krista wrote in that post, we had the privilege of helping to host the Singing Men of North Central Texas on April, 24 as a part of their concert tour in Austria and the Czech Republic. Before their evening concert in Graz, some of the men formed small ensembles and sang on the streets in the downtown district to promote the event. I served as a guide for two of these groups. I was speaking with the men from one of these groups as I lead them to the area where they would sing. It was nice to speak with folks from back home. A man named Mark asked me where exactly in Texas I'm from again. I told him Sulphur Springs (not many people know where Flora is). He said, "Really, my grandfather used to pastor in Sulphur Bluff" (which is a little more known than Flora -- by ten or twelve people). I asked what his grandfather's name was. "Maurice Hill," he replied. That is where the goose bumps came into play. I told him that Bro. Hill was my pastor when I was a little boy. Our family attended Sulphur Bluff Baptist Church up until I was in the 7th grade. (In fact the church faithfully supports our current ministry in Austria today). I have many great childhood memories from my time growing up there and it was really exciting to meet someone who also has ties to the church. I just never would have dreamed of meeting him here in Graz. It guess it really is a small world after all. Have a great one!

Danny
